PIRSA - SARIG Review
SARIG is a web-based application that enables users to view and download spatial information relating to geoscience, mineral and petroleum exploration in South Australia. It provides mineral exploration companies with the ability to apply online for mineral exploration licences.
LISAsoft reviewed SARIG’s spatial content delivery application, architecture and infrastructure to address needs for the next five or more years. A benchmarking test plan was developed to profile regular, projected and peak SARIG usage. Once metrics of the current system were taken, prototypes using alternative GIS stacks were selected, developed and benchmarked for comparison. In combination with stakeholder interviews, a gap analysis, process modelling and component modelling the review delivered a formalised vision, architecture recommendation with scaling and migration plans, capacity planning procedure, technology recommendations and feature recommendations.
